“Koi Inko Sales Sikhao Bhai.” Once a business owner told me.
Do you also think ‘Teaching Sales’ is difficult? Born Salesman hona chahiye?
I asked him “Do they have a sales process?” and Hamesha ki taraha, the answer was NO.
This is why ‘teaching’ sales becomes so difficult.
In many EPC and industrial businesses, salespeople are expected to perform without any structure.
No defined sales stages. No qualification criteria. No meeting agenda. No follow-up sequence. No scripts No documentation. Nothing.
And then we wonder why the sales team is inconsistent. The reality is simple.
Sales training is not possible without a sales process. Aap batao mujhe. Aap apni team ko sales kaise sikhaoge? Agar documented sales process hi nahi hai to where will you start?
I remember speaking with a founder who was frustrated with his sales team. He said, “Every salesperson works differently.”
I asked him, “What process are they supposed to follow?” There was Sannata. Silence.
Jara Socho. If five salespeople isc each following their own method, then you don’t have a sales team. You have five independent experiments running simultaneously.
It is like asking 5 different chefs to cook Shahi Pulao without giving them a recipe. Or ingredients and expecting everyone to cook Shahi Pulao just the way you expected?
If you want to teach sales – then you must FIRST define the Sales Process. And if you don’t know how to; Mai yaha kisliye baitha hu. Write to me.
So Define: Lead Received. First Contact. Qualification. Technical Discussion. Proposal Submission. Negotiation. Order Closure.
Now every salesperson follows the same journey.
Without a process, sales training is vague. It could be just random or case specific suggestions. Aisa karna chahiye tha… Mai hota to aise karta.
Or it could be just motivation – Sincerely follow up karna. Achchese handle karna. Order jana nahi chahiye. Come on. How is this going to help?
With a process, sales training creates results.
