Everyone’s getting faster right now.
Not just you.
Your team finds a tool, something that used to take 2 days now takes 2 hours. Feels like a big win.
And it is.
But then you look around… and every other company is doing the same thing.
Same tools. Same gains. Same excitement.
So the advantage doesn’t really last.
Hey there, I’m Tabish Bibikar, and I coach and mentor founders of software companies to build scale in their business fast… and this is where the AI conversation gets a bit more real.
AI is making everyone more efficient.
Which is great.
But it’s also shrinking the gap between you and your competitors.
Let’s take a simple example.
Say you’re a Fintech services company building a reporting dashboard.
Earlier, maybe it took a few weeks.
Now your team can do it much faster using AI.
But the other companies you’re competing with? They can do it just as fast.
So speed still matters.
But speed alone is no longer enough.
That’s the shift.
What used to be an advantage… is now expected.
And this is where most founders stop at the wrong place.
They focus on:
“How do we use AI more?”
Better question is:
“What about us still stands out… even after AI?”
Because if a client looks at you and three other companies, and all of you sound similar…
Then the decision comes down to price… or whoever responds faster that day.
Not a strong position.
I worked with a founder in Enterprise IT who saw this early.
Their team became very efficient using AI for development and testing.
But instead of just saying “we deliver faster,” they got clearer on what they stood for.
They positioned themselves as the team that simplifies complex internal systems for large enterprises.
So their sales conversations changed.
Less about features.
More about “we’ll make this easier for your teams to actually use.”
Same speed as others.
But much clearer positioning.
That’s what made them stand out.
Because things like:
How well you understand a specific industry
How you define and break down problems
How easy you are to work with
What clients say about you
These don’t come from tools.
And they don’t get copied overnight.
So yes — speed still matters.
If you’re slow, you’ll lose.
But being fast doesn’t make you special anymore.
It just keeps you in the game.
What actually separates you is everything around that speed.
So here’s something to think about.
If every company in your space became twice as fast tomorrow…
Why would a client still choose you?
If that answer is clear, you’re in a strong position.
If not, that’s where the real work is.
If this is something you’re starting to think about in your own business, subscribe and turn on notifications. I share more of these real, day-to-day shifts that affect how you scale.
