If you’re running an IT services company, chances are you’ve been caught in this trap

Custom projects bring in revenue, but they don’t scale.

Every client wants something different.

Every project starts from scratch.

And every proposal feels like you’re reinventing the wheel.

Hey there, I’m Tabish Bibikar, and I coach and mentor founders of software companies to build scale in their business — without burning out or losing focus in the process.

Now, most founders I coach hit this exact wall.

They say — “We want to grow faster, but we can’t take on more projects without hiring more people.”

That’s the classic symptom of a custom-services business model.

So what’s the missing link between custom projects and true scale?

Productized services.

Let me explain this simply.

A productized service is still a service — but it’s packaged, repeatable, and predictable.

It’s like turning your best expertise into a ready-to-use, fixed-scope solution that delivers a clear outcome every single time.

Let’s take an example.

Instead of saying “We build web apps”, you say “We help SaaS founders build MVPs in 6 weeks with a fixed price, fixed scope, and pre-defined tools.”

See the difference?

It’s easier to sell, easier to deliver, and easier to scale — because your process doesn’t change every time.

Another example — one of my clients, a software services company specializing in FinTech, created a productized service around “Core Banking UI Modernization”.

They packaged it as a fixed 8-week sprint with a pre-built design system, reusable components, and clear deliverables.

That single offering brought in repeat business, faster deal closures, and predictable margins.

Here’s why this model works so well:

  • It reduces sales friction — clients love clarity.
  • It increases margins — because you know your effort in advance.
  • It empowers your team — they’re no longer firefighting every project.
  • And it gives you scalability — you can run multiple projects in parallel without chaos.

But here’s the catch — you can’t productize everything.

Start by identifying one service that’s repeatable, profitable, and in high demand.

Then standardize it — your process, your pricing, your tools, your timeline.

And once it’s proven, market it like a product.

Give it a name. Create a landing page. Build case studies around it.

That’s how you move from custom projects to consistent scale.

Remember — scaling isn’t about adding more people.

It’s about adding more repeatability.

Productized services are your bridge from hustle to stability —

From chaos to consistency —

And from being busy to truly scalable.

So if you’re ready to stop reinventing the wheel every week —

Start building your first productized service today.

Thanks for watching, and I’ll see you in the next one.
